Blood Elf / High Elf Headcanon

I was doing some story stuff when I began to play around with ideas for my two Blood Elves.

Strangely enough it relates to hair and it’s significance to the populace. (Since it appears that most elves tend to wear their hair long)

My headcanon is this:

Elves (Specifically of High Elven descent) will grow out their hair at young ages and will never cut it so long as they are victorious in their pursuits. Whether it be battle, love, learning etc.

But if they lose a battle it is “traditional” to cut their hair short to “start over”

Some do it to admit their defeat and others do it to try and give themselves a new start.

I feel this wouldn’t be heavily practiced by elves the majority and kept mostly to ancient lines of elven families and is passed down generation to generation.
